The only question one must ask is, who's left for Norm to "take on"? On these upcoming Sunday evenings you'll find out! Stay tuned - we'll be announcing the air date and of course the Station soon!

Tell them what you want, just don't tell them the Truth- after all, come 2009, it won't matter a damn bit!

The US Coast Guard's Dilemma

With all of the "sudden" outrage on Port Security, let me be so bold as to direct your attention to a very peculiar organziation... our very own United States Coast Guard! This militarized hybrid is as much a shipping inspectorate as a maritime police force. It consists of some 5,700 civilians and 43,000 people in uniform. Another little known secret: it's the only armed service required to reside outside the Pentagon. It has long been the bastard child, with a bastard child's complaint: lack of love & lack of funding!

The Coast Guard has been shunted from the Department of Transportation to that of Homeland Security, given a "bigger allowance" and assigned the awesome task of protecting some 95,000 miles of US coastline and more than 100 seaports capable of handling those large cargo ships. These ships bring in 6 million containers every year! I won't waste your time with all of the other goods I can name; however, I can state with absolute clarity that our Coast Guard does not employ any coastal radar picket system! No maritime version of an early-warning system! It's too big of an issue to ignore! We are a nation at war with an enemy thats already here. Our borders are still open. Bush, with his loyalty to that "oil-rich" region, cannot be dismissed; that loyalty must be challenged! I can only hope all of you address this issue with your Congressional reps, and remember our US Coast Guard cannot speak on this, but we can!
